Hip Style, Vintage Charm
Welcome to the historic, award-winning Aladdin Hotel! A Holiday Inn affiliate, our history and emphasis on service make us unique. You’ll be greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne when you arrive in our breathtaking lobby, which features the original tile floor and restored colonnade. We treat every guest with old-fashioned attention worthy of silver screen star Greta Garbo, who frequented the Aladdin in the 1930s.
Visit the recently-renovated Zebra Room Restaurant and lounge (a former hangout of Micky Mantle), which serves breakfast and dinner and had a pivotal role in racial integration in the city. Or relax in our second-floor Martini Loft Lounge overlooking the lobby.
Built in 1925, and once the tallest building in the city, our hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places. You’ll find us to be a pleasantly different stay, with non-standard room layouts and original building features such as our original mail-chutes, which are still functional and collected daily by the post office. We have king rooms, double rooms, and suites available, but every room on a floor features a different layout – a quirk that is part of the hotel’s charm.
Our hotel staff know and are passionate about the history of our vintage beauty and are happy to answer any of your questions about its unique past. Just ask!
Packed full of vintage Art Deco charm, you’ll also experience modern style and amenities at the Aladdin.
Colorful, smoke-free rooms have pillow-top mattresses with a choice of pillow types and include work desks and coffeemakers. Each room also includes fluffy bathrobes and luxurious dual-head showers. Our flat-screen TVs have all-digital cable PLUS movie channels PLUS On-Demand (we’re the first hotel in the area to have these features standard). Enjoy our free, just-upgraded high-speed wireless internet in every room. Our suites have a pull-out sofa beds, microwaves, and mini-fridges, and kids 19 and under stay free with an adult in any room.
Location, Location, Location! Staying at the Aladdin gives you easy access to the business, convention, financial and entertainment districts downtown. Our hotel is across the street from the Kansas City Convention Center and 5 blocks from the Sprint Center and Power & Light District, which is full of restaurants and nightlife. And we’re just a short drive to both Crown Center (1.3 miles) and Country Club Plaza (4.3 miles).
The Zebra Room restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, and self-parking or valet service is available for a fee. A convenience shop in the lobby can provide you with snacks at any time of the day or night. Our fitness center and business center are both open 24 hours.
What People Are Saying
“Wait what?! This is a Holiday Inn? No way! I was greeted by friendly staff and a bottle of champagne. WHAT?! CHAMPAGNE! A bottle all to myself. The bed was huge, I could have fit myself and 3 other people in the king easily. The bed was also very comfortable. The bathroom is a decent size with dual shower heads. In the morning when you go downstairs they have small bites, I think it was a mini blueberry muffin and a coffee crumble cake. They had coffee on the table as well. Nice touch as I ran out of the building for my day. The rooms may be a little small, but I really loved the bed. The location is also great, easily walkable to the Power and Light district. The day I checked out they were just as nice as when I check in. Fantastic staff. Great stay and if I come back to KC I will stay here.”
